The Asian American Group honored 10 people with 2014 AAG Awards: Michael Levin, president and chief operating officer of Las Vegas Sands; Tom Skancke, president and CEO of Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance; Donna Miller, president of Flying ICU; Dr. James Sanchez, president of Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada; Michael Yang, CEO of Royal Casino Connection; Rone Chang, CEO of Go Global Realty; Jason Awad, chairman of First Security Bank of Nevada; Patricia Lee, a partner at Hutchison & Steffen; Dr. Noel Fajardo of Las Vegas Gastroenterology; and Jie Bu, founder and director of Nevada Arts Academy.

Gary Davis will retire from Shelby American as executive vice president of operations. Davis, the longest tenured production and operations executive in the company’s 52-year history, oversaw Shelby vehicle production at the Las Vegas facility.

Heidi Cook is vice president of business development at CasinoRecruiter.com, an executive recruiting firm for the gaming industry.

Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto received the 2014 William J. Raggio Award from the Nevada Advisory Council for Prosecuting Attorneys.

Sandra Naseef is responsible for research, development and communications, and Natalie Hufford is an administrative assistant at Colliers. Naseef previously was executive vice president of Coldwell Banker Commercial. Hufford was a customer liaison at Carina Homes and Lennar Homes.

Dr. Jason Jaeger of Aliante Integrated Physical Medicine received the “Researcher of the Year” award at the annual Chiropractic BioPhysics Research Symposium in New York City.

Ruth Furman of ImageWords Communications earned the PR World Awards gold honor for women in public relations. Furman launched ImageWords 13 years ago.

Kaylee McDermott is a member services representative at Clark County Credit Union.

Holly Walczak is human resources manager at Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort. She previously worked for the Salvation Army.

Beverly Ausmus Ramsey is executive director of the Desert Research Institute’s Earth and Ecosystem Sciences Division. Ramsey will lead applied research in the life and earth sciences.

Mark Ricciardi, managing partner of Fisher & Phillips, was named a Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers in America. Scott Mahoney, a partner at the office, also was recognized.

Maureen Sweeny is chief operating officer of Aristocrat Technologies. Sweeny will oversee the company’s global sales and marketing.

Four federal prosecutors from the Nevada U.S. Attorney’s Office were among 243 members of the Department of Justice recognized for outstanding work at the 30th annual Director’s Awards Ceremony in Washington D.C. First Assistant U.S. Attorney Steven W. Myhre and Assistant U.S. Attorney James E. Keller were recognized for prosecuting Rick Young and William Willard for a complex securities fraud. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Phillip N. Smith Jr., and Timothy S. Vasquez were recognized for prosecuting Nicholas Bickle, a Navy SEAL, and three co-defendants for possessing and selling machine guns and other weapons.
